Alexa Marzocca received her Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Seton Hall University in Nutley, New Jersey.

She received her Bachelors of Arts degree in English Literature with a minor in Speech-Language Pathology from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. 

Prior to receiving her Master’s Degree, Alexa was a preschool special education paraprofessional in Redding, Connecticut where she was placed in a special education classroom and worked with various populations including autism spectrum disorder, behavioral disorders, and speech and language disorders. She has experience working with early intervention, school-age children, teenagers, and adults with receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, autism spectrum disorders, feeding disorders, voice disorders, swallowing (dysphagia) disorders, aphasia, and cognitive-communication disorders. She has experience working in public schools, skilled nursing facilities, and private practices. Alexa is an LSVT-certified clinician, an effective speech treatment for people with Parkinson's disease (PD) and other neurological conditions.  She has completed the A.E.I.O.U: integrated approach to pediatric feeding training program and uses a responsive feeding approach within her treatment sessions. Alexa believes that parent and family involvement is crucial in her treatment in order to promote positive outcomes in the children and adults she works with and that integration and collaboration with other professionals is a valuable component of the treatment process.  

Alexa holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), holds a Speech Language Specialist (SLS) Certification from the Department of Education in the state of New Jersey, and is licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of New Jersey.

In her free time, Alexa enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and family. She loves being around water and you can usually see her on a sunny day spending time at her lake house reading a book.
