Marissa is a mother of two children and brings a parent perspective along with her professional expertise.
Marissa Kramer, MA, CCC-SLP, is a certified and licensed speech-Language pathologist in New York and New Jersey. Marissa Earned her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from Hofstra University, in New York and her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Maryland University. She holds a certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association, a permanent certificate as a Teacher of Speech Language Disabilities (TSLD) in both New York and New Jersey, and is Level 1 and Level 2 PROMPT trained.
Marissa has expanded her clinical skills and expertise in assessment and treatment of a wide variety of populations, including children with speech and language developmental delays, fluency disorders, motor speech delays/disorders, autism/PDD, and early language developmental delays and disorders. Her varied practice and continued education enables her to implement a variety of specialized, evidence based techniques and therapy programs, including but not limited to, motor based therapy, DIR Floortime, Oral Placement Therapy (OPT), feeding therapy, PROMPT technique, and play-based therapy. Marissa is an advocate for early identification and treatment of speech and language delays, as speech and language skills are the building blocks for later academic and social success.
Marissa has worked in a variety of home and community settings, including home early intervention, preschool, elementary, middle and high schools, sensory facilities, and private practices. Marissa believes that intervention must incorporate collaboration with parents, teachers, caregivers and other professionals who engage with a child on a regular basis in order to see maximum gains and carryover of newly acquired skills learned in therapy.
